FOX 8’s Wayne Dawson To Step Away Until 2025 Due To Medical Procedure

FOX 8’s award-winning host Wayne Dawson is taking a break from broadcasting for a bit.
Dawson announced Tuesday morning that he’ll be leaving FOX 8 until 2025 to prepare for a medical procedure. He first publicly spoke about his health condition in April.
“I have the backing of the most high God, so I think I’ll be okay,” Dawson said this morning.

Dawson explained that he will be gone from Fox 8 News until the beginning of next year, due to his health concerns and some vacation time for the holidays.
He also said he is going to really miss his Fox 8 family, but is going to “get back in the ring” and do what he has to do.
In May, Dawson alluded to dealing with a type of cancer that is typically found in people who use tobacco or are heavy drinkers. However, he’s neither of those.
“Found out it was a form of oral cancer, which was totally shocking,” he said. “You never want to hear the word ‘cancer.’ There’s no doubt about that. That kind of blew me away.”
