It’s been reported that the man responsible for last night’s Amber Alert in Ohio is now dead.
A 7-year-old girl was abducted from Jefferson County on Monday, Nov. 11. The Medina County Sheriff’s Office released a statement last night claiming that the girl has now been returned to her family unharmed.
The suspect, Charles Alexander, reportedly left a family member’s house with the girl after an argument. Alexander didn’t have custody of the girl, and her family feared for her safety.
Monday evening Alexander was spotted in a stolen car with the child. He fled when police and state troopers attempted to pull him over. Eventually, stopsticks were deployed and the stolen vehicle was immobilized.
Alexander was armed, and police tried to negotiate with him by cellphone. Eventually, an officer-involved shooting resulted in Alexander being shot and killed.
This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
