New England Patriots Safety Jabril Peppers Arrested And Charged On Saturday

Jabrill Peppers, 29, was arrested in Massachusetts over the weekend. His charges include strangulation and drug possession, according to ESPN.

From ESPN:

Police announced Peppers’ arrest Monday, saying they responded to a disturbance at a residential address early Saturday morning when a caller indicated there was an altercation between two people.

Police said Peppers, 29, will be charged with “assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and possession of a Class B substance believed to be cocaine.”

Peppers was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2017. In 2019, he was traded to the New York Giants in a deal that brought wide receiver Odell Beckem Jr. to Cleveland. In 2022, Peppers signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots, before being extended to a three-year, $30 million contract over the summer.

Peppers, a team captain, is expected to be arraigned today.

Patriots coach Jarod Mayo said in a statement on WEEI radio, “We’ve informed the NFL what was going on and we’re still gathering information.”
