Ohio State Trooper Dies After Being Struck on I-90 in Cleveland

CLEVELAND – An Ohio state trooper was struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 90 near McKinley Avenue in Cleveland.
The trooper, identified as Kenneth Velez, 48, was struck outside his patrol car around 12:52 p.m.
Traffic is backed up on I-90 as far as W. 98th Street. The westbound lanes are currently closed from West Boulevard through Lakewood.
Police say they expect the left lane to be closed for several hours.
